An experienced international meeting and special events professional with in-depth expertise in tactical event production, promotion and management, Trey oversees the design and delivery of Human Capital Media’s extensive portfolio of executive-level conferences, webinars and virtual events.

Annual events for which he is responsible include the Spring and Fall Chief Learning Officer (CLO) Symposiums — attracting hundreds of business executives, senior workforce development professionals and industry thought leaders from around the world — the CLO Breakfast Club Series held in a variety of U.S. cities — the Workforce Live! roadshow — 10+ virtual events and 90+ webinars with more than 2000 attendees. In addition to directing the company’s overall event production strategy, content development, site and staging logistics, event marketing, registration, sponsor relations and on-site management, he holds P&L responsibility across all live and virtual HCM events.

Before joining the company’s events staff in 2004, Smith was an Assistant Manager for Uppercut Management, an artist management firm specializing in the development of national recording artists. At Uppercut Trey was responsible for administrative and accounting processes related to talent, reviewing compensation and offers with booking agents, coordinating travel arrangements and ensuring all shows ran successfully. He was also instrumental in recommending co-writes for a key client, one of which resulted in a #1 single and platinum album.

He holds a BA in Communications & Culture/Telecommunications from Indiana University.
