This lecture discusses how new media technology can be used to identify and archive cultural memory in the 21st century. Of particular interest for this talk is documenting southern cultural memory and identity using hip hop and new media. I will discuss my current new media project, Outkasted Conversations, to explore how southernness is documented in digital spaces and why new media is critical to remembering marginalized spaces and places.
