Mobile isn't the future. It's the present. The proliferation of "smart" mobile devices has created a new breed of financial services customer - namely, one who expects information in "the now". Brands need to meet consumers on this new level of expectation, resistance will only prove futile. As users move seamlessly between devices, brands need to develop a "device-agnostic" marketing strategy to engage customers and exceed expectations. Paypal and Venmo are gobbling up a huge share of transactions that historically were banks bread and butter. With new competitors specifically focused on online banking and near perfect access to information everywhere and at anytime, do brands still matter to the 2014 banking customer? The answer is yes.
